Homemade cinnamon rolls beat store bought any day, and this recipe is simple and sweet. The best part is they only take about 30 minutes from start to finish. We never have leftovers. In fact, with a growing teenage boy in the house, we usually need a double batch!
1 Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet
4 tablespoons softened salted real butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
4 tablespoons heavy cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough. Heat the butter in the microwave for about 15 seconds. A small amount will completely melt, but just pour that part into the bottom of a greased round pyrex dish. Spread the softened butter on the dough. Next, mix the sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle it onto the buttered dough. Now, roll the dough back up into a log. Slice it into eight equal sections and place them in the pyrex dish. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. While the buns are baking, mix all of the icing ingredients together. Don’t skip the almond extract. It is the secret ingredient that makes these buns so yummy! Immediately pour some icing on each bun when they come out of the oven and enjoy the gooey sticky goodness!
These homemade cinnamon buns are easy, quick, and yummy – perfect for any early morning breakfast with sweet friends! So give them a try, and let us know what you think!
